I usually post my episodes every week or every other.
Episode 15 (year 5): Burnout, Neurodiversity, and Navigating NLD
Today's episode focuses on burnout and being neurodiverse, drawing from the host's personal experience with chronic migraines and NLD (Nonverbal Learning Disorder). The host acknowledges the shared struggles of neurodiverse individuals, many of whom also face chronic pain. The episode will include insights from articles as well as personal experiences to explore the topic.
Today’s episode will be about burnout and being neurodiverse. I experience a lot of this because of having chronic migraines along with NLD. I also know that I’m not the only one who does. I have many friends who are neurodiverse and have chronic pain conditions too. I’ll use some articles to support this episode and my own experience with this too.

Episode 12 (year 5): Using Mental Math with NLD: Now vs. Life Applications
Growing up, math was a constant challenge for me, and I often needed multiple tutors to help with homework—sometimes three in a single day. While overwhelming at times, their support eased my frustration and tears. It wasn’t until I was diagnosed with NLD at 19 in college that I finally understood why math had been so difficult.

Episode 6 (year 5): How Many Educators and Professionals Are Neurodiverse or Know Someone Who Is?
How many doctors, teachers, academic counselors and tutors are neurodiverse? Or know someone who is neurodiverse?
The topic discusses how many professionals, like doctors, teachers, and tutors, are neurodiverse or know someone who is. It suggests that if more doctors understood neurodiversity, they could better address challenges related to chronic pain, medication effectiveness, weight management, and self-care. The text highlights that neurodiverse individuals face different challenges than neurotypicals, and professionals who recognize this could offer more effective and compassionate care.

Have you ever wondered if historical events targeted neurodivergent individuals without many knowing? It would be both interesting and appalling to discover if any neurodivergent individuals were among those exterminated in the Holocaust. I apologize if this topic touches on personal losses related to the Holocaust, a truly horrific period in human history.

Do you struggle with more than one incurable condition or learning difference? Or do you have challenges living with more than one condition or learning difference that are invisible? Do you have issues with there not being a cure for these conditions, diseases, learning differences etc. now or possibly ever?
I would say yes to all of these questions and that has been true for the past 16 years for my PTSD, the past 10 years for NLD and chronic migraines.

What is, how is and why is beautiful or a blessing in disguise? Why is it a good thing to be authentically you and not mask your neurodiversity? Why you shouldn’t mask your neurodiversity?
I’ve always had a difficult time being myself especially around people that don’t know much about me. I usually don’t hid the challenges that my learning difference and chronic migraine conditions present to my close friends and family because they know what it is like for me since they live with me and have known me for a while.

Part 2 for this interview and Jim's Bio is below:
James Lange is a CPA/Attorney and the author of ten best-selling financial books that help IRA and retirement plan owners get the most of what they’ve got. The Wall Street Journal has endorsed Jim’s tax and estate planning strategies 36 times. Listeners should go to https://DisabledChildPlanning.com/Podcast to download a free digital copy of book. At that page, interested listeners can also leave their name/email address if they want to be notified about our June 18, 19, & 20 virtual summit.
Jim’s daughter, Erica, has a disability. Jim’s expertise with Roth IRA conversions and the impact of the SECURE Act on IRAs, disability planning, and legacy planning was critical in developing a long-term plan to secure his daughter’s financial future and improve his family’s quality of life.
He was quick to realize that his solution, with modifications tuned to each family’s circumstances, could benefit all parents of a child with a disability. Using his family’s journey as the base, Jim authored a new book, Retire Secure for Parents of a Child with a Disability, with two experts in the disability field. Jim and his co-authors believe the book is the best comprehensive financial resource for parents of a child with a disability.
Jim and his staff are also hosting a 3-day virtual summit titled Financial and Life Planning Summit…for Parents of a Child with a Disability from June 18 to June 20. Tatyana McFadden, one of the top paralympic athletes in the world will be our celebrity speaker. The three co-authors and a host of other experts will be offering educational talks over the three-day period. Participants can choose which of the sessions they would like to attend. Many will also be followed with Q&A sessions. And best of all, everyone can enjoy the talks from the comfort of their own living room. To receive updates on our June 18th – 20th Financial and Life Planning Summit, go to https://DisabledChildPlanning.com/June.

Did you know that there is a link between neurodivergence and being hyperbolic? Have you heard of why NVLD isn’t in the DSM? And why is the name changing to DVSD or Development Visual Spatial Disorder? Why isn’t there one agreed upon definition for NVLD or DVSD? We’ll be exploring these topics today. The songs I referenced were "Walking Miracles" and "Do Something," by Matthew West.

Episode 16 (year 4): Misconceptions of NLD and LDs
Nonverbal Learning Disability is a learning challenge that makes it more difficult for individuals to process nonverbal information.
Nonverbal Learning Disability is a learning challenge that makes it more difficult for individuals to process nonverbal information. This includes understanding things like body language, facial expressions, tone of voice, social cues, hand signals, and other behaviors that make up the bulk of social interaction. NLD or NVLD also has physical challenges such as impaired fine motor skills and lower visual-spatial awareness. People with NLD can also process information more slowly which makes it difficult to do things like mental math, retain information, and think abstractly.

Have you ever had to make a big life decision and didn’t know how to make it? Have you ever regretted the decisions you made in your past? Or felt like there was too much change going on in your life for you to handle?
I have been wrestling a personal decision for months now that involves my traumatic past, I haven’t come to a conclusion on it yet. I am working on this with my therapist and thought I would share with you what the process has been like for me. Maybe it’ll help you or someone you know who is in the same situation.
